Same Mission as Jesus Christ

The church of Jesus Christ is not a social club. It is a government or kingdom, in which Jesus Christ is the King of kings, Chief Commander over his kingdom. His kingdom consists of priests, saints, ambassadors, ministers, soldiers, and many other titles which is synonymous to a son of God whose purpose is to reconcile man back to God and destroy the works of the devil through the proclamation of what Jesus did for us all. The only thing we can’t do is to do what Jesus did on the cross. Only Jesus could remit our sins through his own sacrifice of his life for us. However, everything else he did he expects us to do and even greater things than what he did.

Therefore when the church assembles together to worship, pray, or preach the word it should should serve one purpose. That purpose is to glorify God by encouraging one another to be obedient to the mission that Jesus Christ commanded the church to do after his resurrection. He said to go into all the world and preach the gospel of the kingdom of God, which is salvation through Jesus Christ that gives man a total package of several things:

  1. Repentance
  2. Remission of sins
  3. Reconciliation towards God the Father through Jesus Christ.
  4. New creation (the old self is dead and buried, and you become a new man)
  5. Holy Spirit resides in the new creation, continuing the work of sanctification, edification and providing power to do the mission of Jesus Christ
  6. Restoration of the body (health) and mind (sobriety).
  7. The kingdom of God is manifested through the new creation, which is joy, peace, holiness and authority to do the works of God.

The American church model has become a social club. Its main purpose now appears to appease the conscience of its attendee to just show up and have the same ritualistic format of worship, preaching, and coffee with snacks for meet and greet. After a couple of handshake and hugs everyone goes home and then do the same thing next week. By the way I am not against handshakes, hugs, worship and preaching. However, when that is the primary activity of an assembly, then it is no longer an assembly but rather social get together. An assembly has purpose, it has urgency, it has a plan backed by action for the believer in that assembly to do the works Jesus Christ told us to do.

The American church model is of no threat to satan. If it were then the level of persecution would look like other places of the world where our fellow believers are under constant physical danger by satan. If the American Church model was working then there is no way we would have abortion, LGBT/transgender agenda infiltration our schools, lost souls would flood our churches looking for salvation, healing, and restoration of their souls. However, instead the American church model looks no different than other religions, or humanistic institutions to provide a social need. The victories that does occur through the American Church propagates in spite of the its anemic systematic structure. There are victories because the individuals within that church stands up for Christ. Those individuals have decided to not follow the crowd but rather take the personal responsibility to do something for God.

However, the norm is go to church building on a Sunday, pay tithes, have children church, hear a sermon you barely remember the next day, and talk about secular things such as sports, politics, business, and etc. The opportunity is missed when there should be a focus on planning, delegating strategies, tactics and tasks to defeat the evil that is in their own communities. In the kingdom of God there can be no fornication, adultery, un-scriptural divorce, idolatry, theft, drugs, sickness, homicide, death, false religions, devils and etc. If you see those things in the church/family/community then the local church’s job is not done in that area where they fellowship.

The local church attendees has to wake up!!

I believe the problem is that the typical christian in church really don’t believe that there is a war against them. I don’t think they believe that the war satan is waging is to kill them and their children. I don’t think they understand the consistency and tenacity of the enemy. If they did, then they would do what is required to defend their home, churches or community. They would do what is necessary to win the battle that Jesus Christ has already given them the authority to win. I think that Christians believe that they are just robots waiting for the Sovereignty of God to move them towards victory. I would argue that idea is not accurate to the scriptures. The scriptural correct understanding is that we must exercise our senses to know the will of God, and be obedient to the will of God by taking the necessary action to ensure His will is enforced through the church here on earth. I do not believe the we will make this world look like heaven for that is after the second Coming of Christ. However, I believe the inhabitants of the earth can know what heaven is like through the church, because that is where we are spiritually seated. Thus the presence and power of God works through His church.

The question for today’s church is

  1. “Do they believe that God will work through them?”
  2. “Do they think that some special ordination from a man made institution is required in order for them to be qualified to preach the gospel to the lost?”
  3. “Do they believe that the demonstration of the power of God can work through them?”
  4. The answer for the majority “church attendees” is NO!!!.

They don’t believe for various reasons:

  1. They have not been trained(Discipleship model is another issue)
  2. They are not born again and Holy Spirit filled. (Without the Holy Spirit they can not do anything anyhow)
  3. They are not feeding on the word of God for themselves. (laziness and codependency on the leadership to feed them. This is recipe for disaster, all satan has to do is get leadership to fall in order to bring down the whole congregation. )
  4. No prayer life
  5. No biblical meditation. Romans 12:1-2 is key for transformation.
  6. They hang around other deadbeats that encourage them not to live for God. (Either you are being influenced towards God or you are not)
  7. They are in bondage or captive to sin.

Time to get going

The time to change is now. To my church attendee, my proposition is this. Pretend you are the last christian on earth and the only way the world is going to know the kingdom of God is through you! What would you do? Write down the answers and systematically create a plan of action. Start small, be consistent, and make scheduled plans to increment your output. It should be measurable for e.g., how much time you spend doing something for God?

However, the most important factor is IMPACT. Getting one soul to know God truly can liberate thousands of other souls. Look at how Jesus Christ did his discipleship. He poured into 12 mostly. Those 12 (minus Judas) turned the whole world upside down through the teaching that Christ poured into them.

You can do this!

What if you poured into 12 souls deeply the truth of God, and they impact a thousand each? That is 12 thousand souls per 12 individuals you disciple correctly. Those 12 thousands individual each impact another 12 thousands. Its a similar concept to compound interest in the financial markets. Be a wise steward of God resources that He implanted in you. You can do this. Get started now!!!!
